AdSense Getting Ready Troubleshooter
When a site remains in review for a long time, the most useful move is not panic-refreshing the dashboard. Review the site as if you were a first-time reader and a cautious crawler.
Check the obvious first
- The domain loads publicly on HTTPS.
- robots.txt does not block important content.
- ads.txt is present and uses the correct publisher ID if the site is ad-supported.
- The site has a clear homepage, About page, Privacy page, Terms page, Disclaimer page, and contact route.
- The main navigation is not broken on desktop or mobile.
- The sitemap lists real canonical URLs, not duplicate index.html versions or mixed hosts.
Review page value
Look for pages that are too short, mostly boilerplate, mostly navigation, mostly copied definitions, or too similar to other pages. Strengthen those pages with useful examples, diagrams, comparison tables, calculators, definitions, plain-English explanations, and internal links that help readers continue.
Review ad behavior
Use real ad code only. Avoid fake ad boxes, artificial ad placeholders, or layouts that make the page look built for ads instead of readers.
Review search visibility tools
Use Google Search Console to inspect a few representative URLs and check the Page indexing report. Use Bing Webmaster Tools to confirm the sitemap is submitted and that the site is verified.
Helpful tools on this site
Start with the Static Site Checker, then use the Sitemap Quality Checker, robots.txt and ads.txt Checker, and Publisher Readiness Planner.
Important limitation
This guide is a practical publishing checklist. It does not guarantee indexing, ranking, AdSense approval, legal compliance, accessibility certification, or security. Always confirm current requirements in the relevant official tools and policy pages.
